NexGen Exterior Home Remodeling completed this Trex composite deck replacement in North Wales, PA, transforming an aging wood deck into a beautiful, low-maintenance outdoor living space with convenient access to the homeowners’ pool and backyard. Working with Drew Kenney, Remodeling Consultant, and John Lemes, Project Manager, our team demolished the existing wooden deck and replaced it with a new composite deck and staircase designed to improve both the appearance and functionality of the backyard. The homeowners selected Trex Enhance® decking in Honey Grove, a warm, natural-looking color with realistic woodgrain variation. Honey Grove decking offers the beauty of wood without the demanding upkeep of traditional lumber. Trex composite decking is designed to resist common issues such as rot and splintering and eliminates the need for regular sanding, staining, or sealing—making it an ideal choice for a busy poolside outdoor living space. The deck was finished with black aluminum cocktail railings, creating a striking contrast against the lighter Honey Grove decking. The cocktail rail design also provides a wider top surface along the railing—an especially useful feature for entertaining, setting down a drink, or simply enjoying the view of the backyard and pool.
Communication from Start to Finish
Beyond the finished construction, strong communication was an important part of this project. Drew, John, and the NexGen team kept the homeowners informed throughout the remodeling process, from the initial planning and material selections through demolition, construction, and the finishing details. Our goal is for homeowners to feel confident about their project at every stage—not just when they see the final result. In this case, that combination of attentive communication, quality craftsmanship, and attention to detail resulted in very pleased homeowners and a completely transformed backyard. The finished deck provides a durable, low-maintenance setting for relaxing, entertaining, and enjoying summer days by the pool—while giving the entire outdoor living space a fresh, cohesive appearance built for years of use.
