NexGen Exterior Home Remodeling recently completed a stunning ground-level deck replacement and outdoor living space upgrade in Gilbertsville, PA, transforming a deteriorated, aging wood deck into a beautiful, low-maintenance retreat designed for year-round enjoyment. Working with Nick Freeth, Remodeling Consultant, the homeowners chose a premium Trex® composite decking system paired with a custom roof overhang to enhance comfort, functionality, and curb appeal.
The original deck had reached the end of its lifespan, with extensive wear, rot, and structural deterioration. Our team carefully removed the entire existing deck and supporting structure before constructing a brand-new ground-level deck and stair system built to current township code requirements. To further enhance the outdoor space, we designed and installed a partial roof overhang, providing valuable shade and weather protection while creating a more comfortable environment for relaxing and entertaining outdoors.
The new deck features Trex Transcend® decking in Cinnamon Cove, a warm, natural-looking color inspired by richly stained hardwoods. Trex Transcend decking combines authentic wood aesthetics with industry-leading durability, resisting fading, staining, scratching, mold growth, splintering, and rot. Unlike traditional wood decking, Trex composite decking never requires sanding, staining, or sealing, allowing homeowners to spend more time enjoying their outdoor space and less time maintaining it.
To complement the deck’s elegant appearance, we installed Trex® White Railing, creating a clean, timeless finish that enhances both safety and style. For the new roof overhang, NexGen installed durable CertainTeed roofing shingles, seamlessly integrating the structure with the home’s exterior while providing dependable protection from sun and rain. The addition of covered outdoor space significantly extends the deck’s usability and creates a more inviting backyard environment throughout the seasons.
