This custom screened-in porch addition in Pennsauken, NJ transformed an existing composite deck into a comfortable, protected outdoor living space designed for enjoyment throughout three seasons. Rather than replacing the existing decking, our team preserved the homeowner’s composite deck and constructed a brand-new roof system and screened enclosure, maximizing their investment while creating an entirely new backyard experience.
Working with Remodeling Consultants Ashley and Jesse Bator and Project Manager John Lemes, our team engineered and built a durable roof structure finished with CertainTeed roofing shingles to seamlessly complement the home’s exterior. We also completed the electrical installation, adding recessed lighting and a ceiling fan to improve comfort, airflow, and usability from spring through fall.
The homeowners’ primary goal was to enjoy their backyard without constantly dealing with mosquitoes, insects, and local wildlife. The new screened porch provides the fresh-air experience they wanted while creating a protected gathering space for relaxing, dining, and entertaining family and friends.
By enclosing the existing deck beneath a professionally built roof system, this project significantly expanded the home’s functional living space without the cost of a full addition.
