The Foundation of NexGen
The Origins of a Better Way to Remodel
Andrew Levin is the Co-Founder of NexGen, where he drives innovation by bringing cutting-edge technology to the home remodeling industry. He’s passionate about creating smarter, more efficient solutions while ensuring all teams are aligned and working toward shared goals in a supportive culture where employees can thrive.
Previously, Andrew served in the Marine Corps, developing the discipline and leadership that guide him today. He also worked as an Account Manager for a global IT firm and earned his degree from Drexel University.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys hiking and hunting. He lives in Huntingdon Valley, PA, with his wife, Joanne, and their six kids – five girls and one boy.
Fun Fact: Andrew served in Japan during his time in the Marine Corps, a transformative experience in his life.
Jesse Bator, Co-founder, leads the development and execution of sales and revenue strategies at NexGen. He oversees sales activities, provides training, and builds strong vendor relationships, identifying strategic partnerships that fuel the company’s growth and enhance its capabilities. Jesse is passionate about fostering a positive culture rooted in core values and growth.
With 15 years in remodeling, Jesse’s passion for home improvement was inspired by his grandfather, an Italian cabinet maker, who taught him the value of being his own boss.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two young boys, and their two dogs in Collingswood, NJ. He also enjoys food, wine, travel, and supporting his kids’ sports activities.
Fun Fact: Jesse once trained kids in boxing and MMA, helping them build self-control after losing siblings to gun violence.
The Story of NexGen
NexGen was born from a chance meeting and a shared vision. Jesse and Andrew didn’t know each other before the business began—but they both connected through a mutual partner with a big idea. At the start, there were four partners in total. But while the founding team shared ambition, not everyone aligned on what sustainable growth should look like. Some expected rapid success—without the elbow grease it truly takes to build something lasting. Jesse and Andrew knew better.
Jesse brought experience from Power Home Remodeling, and Andrew brought a sharp operational mindset shaped by his role as an Account Manager for a global IT firm. They had different backgrounds and different styles—but shared a goal: to build something meaningful and lasting.
NexGen officially kicked off in September 2014 at a local car show. The team set up a booth, talked to homeowners, and walked away with a pile of leads—momentum had started. They are returning to that same event this year!
Laying the Groundwork
The early years were full of lessons. Like any young company, there were missteps—but there was also discipline. From the beginning, NexGen focused on doing things the right way. Systems like a CRM and financial controls were put in place before they were needed. The team focused on securing new business and making sure every job was completed the right way, with an experienced Project Management team led by Greg Bator. The first 4–5 years were about building a healthy foundation—not just chasing revenue, but creating an operation built for long-term success.
Evolving the Vision
In the most recent 3–4 years, the focus shifted from operations to people. With the foundation built, NexGen began investing in leadership development, company culture, and employee growth. Jesse and Andrew had to grow as leaders too—learning how to manage, coach, and support a team. They understood that no business can grow unless its people do.
Today, NexGen has a clear identity and an aligned vision. The focus is on strategy, professional development, and healthy growth—not just for the sake of it, but for the sustainability and well-being of everyone involved. Accountability is more than a buzzword—it’s a promise to every employee whose livelihood depends on the company’s success.
The Road Ahead
As NexGen continues to grow, it has brought in new leadership to elevate the brand and strengthen the connection between operations, marketing, and sales. Diana Asbury, NexGen’s Marketing Director, brings deep experience in business development, brand awareness, employee engagement, and sales management. She understands both the operational strategy and systems mindset that Andrew excels in—and the relationship-driven, consultative approach that defines Jesse’s style.
Together, NexGen’s leadership team is shaping a more unified and forward-looking company. By aligning processes, clarifying goals, and building strong cross-functional collaboration, they are driving smarter strategy and clearer execution across every department. It’s a team-wide effort to ensure everyone is working in sync—and that the customer experience continues to improve as the company grows.
NexGen is also sharpening its customer focus. The introduction of dedicated Customer Relationship Managers ensures that every homeowner stays connected and cared for, long after the job is done. The goal isn’t just to complete a project—it’s to be the trusted provider customers think of for the long haul.
